To raise awareness about the dangers of illegal drugs‚ a Dangerous Drugs Awareness Seminar was conducted on March 13‚ 2026‚ at the NVC CSQ Gymnasium.
The seminar was organized by the Guidance and Counseling Office‚ the Criminal Justice Education Department‚ and the Supreme Student Council‚ and was attended by CJED first-year and senior high school students. The session was led by PSSG Stevic R. Almano‚ who discussed the responsibilities of law enforcement, emphasizing that all PNP officers must respect and uphold the human rights and dignity of every person while protecting life and property.
The discussion also covered Republic Act 9165‚ known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act‚ and presented examples of different illegal drugs and how they negatively affect the human body. PSSG Almano also explained key concepts to help students better understand the issues surrounding illegal drug use. One of the key reminders he shared was, “the use of illegal drugs is the cause of many crimes.”
He also left the students with a meaningful message‚ “With guns you can kill terrorists; with education you can kill terrorism‚” highlighting that knowledge and awareness are important in preventing social problems.
After his talk‚ Ms. Yveth Villanueva discussed the NVC Drug-Free Policy‚ reminding students of their responsibility as a student‚ to say no to illegal drugs‚ remain aware of their dangers‚ and support the school’s efforts to maintain a safe and drug-free environment.
The seminar concluded with closing remarks from SSC President Jay Lawrence Fernando‚ who expressed gratitude to the speakers and participants. The event officially ended with a fun icebreaker activity that energized the students and wrapped up the seminar on a positive note.
