This school year’s organizational members of the Northwestern Visayan Colleges (NVC) did not only end up as officially sworn officers but also as empowered leaders after the Mass Induction and Oath-Taking Ceremony on September 12, 2025, at the NVC CSQ Gymnasium, Kalibo, Aklan.

The event began with a leadership talk by Louis Joseph M. Candari, a 3rd year Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education student. He kickstarted his lecture by explaining to student leaders that leadership is not about departmental designations, but about inspiring people to act and create initiatives. “Leadership isn’t about titles or positions. It’s about influence—how you influence others—it’s about impact,” he stated.

He also emphasized that true leadership is about inspiring others to become leaders themselves. In his words: “Under isang leader, maraming followers. Sa followers na ‘yon, dapat maraming magiging leader. At pag maraming leader, maraming projects. Maraming magiging changemaker. Maraming nagiging boses. Maraming tutulong sa nahihirapan.”

The highlight of the event, the oath-taking of officers, followed afterward. John Joseph Quimpo, Executive Committee Member of the Office of the Student Affairs, led the induction of the organization members into their positions through the recital of the Oath of Office.

This was succeeded by the inspirational message of the guest speaker, Hon. Philip Yerro Kimpo, Municipal Vice Mayor of Kalibo. He reminded the student leaders: “Hindi niyo kailangang maging politiko para maging mabuting tao. It can start with yourself, it can start with your family—dyan pwede ka na magstart na maging mabuting tao.”

In an open forum that came after, officers voiced out their appeals and concerns regarding the school's clubs and organizations. The ceremony concluded through the closing remarks of Jay Lawrence Fernando, president of the Supreme Student Council.

The event aimed not only to thrust the student leaders of NVC into their respective organizational positions but also empower them to become good and influential leaders for the long run.
